nope i dnt fink its acceptable.. i know from islam it says its ok.. but i know there is no way i cud share my guy wit another woman , no matter how well he treated me.. i jus wudnt b able to do it. n if he did decide to marry.. im not sure i wud b able to stay wit him unfortunately..

However, i've been asked this question many times by a few brothers and sisters, and yes it would be hard to accept that your husband might want to re-marry and so on, but i don't know what you might be thinking but if the sisters are hating me sorry but this is my honest opinion and i guess i wouldn't mind.. as long as he treats us equally in respect and love etc...
Simply because Islam allows it, and so will i................ well there you go,my view about polygamy

I get where the sisters are coming from, coz in this day and age, you get ppl playing with each other alot, and just finding that one person for you, and know that he considers to re-marry, and it puts doubts in sisters minds, you can comprehend where there coming from, and as a sister myself i respect that, much love, respect & appreciation for you all...
But back in the day when our Beloved Nabi (saw) was alive, not much was happening, i mean double-dating and commiting adultery/fornication etc etc, as today it occurs alot, astagfirullah... hence these doubts are common (plz correct me if im wrong by all means...)
Moreover, having imaan does give you strength.... and Alhamdulillah, over the years my imaan has strenthened and i am willing as long as i know it would make my husband content...

i can understand how girls might *feel* as tho they cant accept it - that it seems some kind of strange idea - (its only strange because of the environment we have grown up in). but surely if ur a muslim and u believe in god and u believe he is ur creator, u also believe he knows wats best for u? and therefore in his laws he makes it halal for a man 2 marry up 2 4 (with certain conditions) then u would accept this as trust that allah knos this is the best thing for you? i mean who is any1 to turn around and say, 'well i kno god says this and i dont dispute that he said this. but i feel that he is wrong or i just dont like wat he said and therefore i will do actions according to my whim and/or desire'
i really dont think i would take a second wife simply cos 1 is enough for me. but i can understand that some men might want more and are capable of being just and capable of providing the needs of two or more wives at the same time then i certainly dont see a problem with that.
just to re-iterate, the hukm on polygamy is clear and in textual evidence (i.e. the Quran). No muslim (or non-muslim even) can question the accuracy or correctness of the Quran and therefore i think there really is no debate on the issue.
