Does this question apply to both boys and girls? or just directed to girls! Since its mostly the case when it comes to girls! Does this sound familiar ("His a docter and his loaded, Giggles")

Asalaamu'alaikum darlings...

No, i wouldn't marry for money, it would be very wrong, i would marry someone because of their piety...

its not actually wrong 2 look at some1s wealth (as its one of the 6 valid criterias listed in the quran) but Fabia is right in piety is the best thing 2 look for.

Asalaamu'alaikum

Piety will prevent us from the fire of jahanaam not money and status... and for those ppl who marry for wrong reasons, they contemplate later in life...
Piety is the key to the doors of Jannah, and may Allah swt give us the taufeeq to be shaded by the doors of Jannah on the day of qiyamah..Aameen..

Asalaamu'alaikum Brother Bengaltiger,

Jazzakallahukhair for your kind words Brother; but i do not deserve such accolade, you are too kind; Subhanallah yes we are fortunate that we are BORN muslims but dont act like we are... but Inshaa'Allah we will prosper...

Furthermore, no hats down to me, but make duaa for me brother and for our beloved ummah inshaa'allah... nothing but duaa for all my brothers and sisters x

Furthermore, i agree with Br Lutonian,

I would look for wealth, but not being my first priority; piety being my first & i hope so for the rest of us it is the same; but as for me it would like say it would obviously make life easier but i would use the wealth that my husband & I have to take my children (inshaa'allah if i get the taufeeq to have children) i would send them to respectful madressa, where they will learn more about Islam... you know what i mean...

Take care all for now

KNow exactly wat u mean - but theres a problem - i dont think there will be any good madrassas in the future in this country given how mr. blair has suddenly decided he is an alim and decided 2 issue fatwas abt wat islam is and isnt and wat kinda imam we can have.

Fabia jee if u wish u can send ur kids to my madrassa ... if u look at my profile from my picture u will immediately deduce how representative i am of islam today ...

and about the topic: yes, definately. children can be hade, character can be made, education can be acquired, so can friends, but money? does jemsbhai have money? NOO and does he have any of those other fine things ... NOO also!! thus money is the solution to all of jemsbhai's problems and if marriage be the key to wealth, then so be it ...

maybe life is just a dream

Br Lutonian,

I comprehend of what you mean, I know, with whats happening with the world today and the Kufr and the Muslims and Government etc etc, you are right that there might not be any madressas, but let us all pray Inshaa'Allah that they will stand... for our sake and our children sake.

Fabia: it is very fine and wise for someone living the "THA MAHAL" to not marry for money, but for someone living in "THA HOLE" it can be a question of survival ... now jemsbhai will return to hunting rodents for dinner ...

Is gerbil on the menu today jemzy? Jemsbhai attentively raise's his head above the long green grass, with something fluffy in his mouth, gazing at me for a moment then ever so slightly nodding, after which he whoosh's away again. Carrying on with his business!

yes its true there is a chronic need for islamic schools especially in the muslim communities in the uk. its all well n good havin schools but ive noticed that too many ppl put too much reliance on the schools 2 educate their children wen they should realise that ultimately its their responsibility.

the other problem of course is that madrassas are still bound to teach national curriculum a lot of which is principally against islam (e.g. sex education (suppose 2 b by parents only), forced indoctrination of secularism etc)

Just enjoying reading Fabia's responce to lutonian, and vice versa! Its nice to know we can have a decent and a realism conversation on all aspects of life, in this case religeon, and wealth.

Jemmy, A blind man was standing on the corner with his dog when the dog raised his leg and wet on the man's trouser leg. The man reached in his pocket and took out a doggie biscuit. A busybody who had been watching ran up to him and said, "You shouldn't do that. He'll never learn anything if you reward him when he does something like that!". The blind man retorted, "I'm not rewarding him. I'm just trying to find his mouth so that I can kick him in the ass".

@Fabia and Lutonians conversation: jemsbhai does not indulge or rather interfere in the enlightenement process, its a natural thing, and interjections will only harm the process ...

@BT: and the moral of the story is? BT is the dog and jemsbhai is blind?
