well technically thats not true either as it is possible for a wife to come between him and his parents and make him choose! thankfully i aint in that situation and the wife would be in the wrong to do that anyway.
as i see it, theres no issue here. u hav a duty 2 ur parents. u hav no duty above that except 2 god and his messenger.

perhaps it seems that ppl in foreign lands are more aware because ur experience of ppl in the home lands is that they generally arent so aware of their religion.
