Choose a nice theme for your website
Decide what features your website will provide. Guestbook, forum, games, SMS, Chat, Links, Tools, etc etc.
Will you design your website, in pure HTML, PHP, and incorporate other languages like Java, Perl-Cgi, etc.
Design your webpage layout, and graphics using
Macromedia Firework
Macromedia Flash (incorporating some flash into your page)
Dreamweaver to organise and construct your page.
Your whole webpage can be done in Fireworks bruv.
I use Xreg.co.uk. Search and register your domain. £10.00 a year for .com and .net domains, and less for .co.uk domains. You can choose another company to register your domain but watch out for ones who promise you free hosting with, where you get a free domain with it. I suggest you purchase your domain name seperatly.
If you’re thinking of having your webpage hosted by a company. You won’t need to go through the extra hassle of redirecting your domain address.
Your domain: DaOneAndOnly.co.uk
Your hosting provider: cheaphosts.com
Replace your Nameserver IP in Xreg.co.uk with there’s. And your Domain IP will be pointed to there name servers.
Or your free hosting providers are: lycos.co.uk, Angelfire.com, tripod.com, freeprohosting.com. Depending on what features or languages you will need. Angelfire comes with CGI, and Lycos comes with free PHP, SQL, and CGI access.
If you’re going for the free option. All you need to do is add a web redirect address in your Xreg.co.uk control panel. Just add www.angelfire.com/daone/onlyuk/ And www.angelfire.com/daone/onlyuk/ will be replaced with www.daoneandonly.com.
The best ftp program to use is Smartftp.
